I’ve sat in front of Navy Seals while they target practice so I can get my angle. I’ve hung outside a helicopter for a shot. I’ve gone 80ft up in a lift for a portrait standing up in a 100ft tree. I’ve swam underwater for my moment. I’ve ran through the mountains chasing 2 men on horseback. I’ve flown with a former jet fighter pilot. I get wet in the Great Lakes. I bake in the desert. I chill out in blizzards. Very few do what I do.

I go where I need to go, and do what I need to do to get the shot I want.

Posing for a portrait can be intimidating, I know.

It's like trying to look cool while feeling like you’re getting a root canal. That’s why my approach is relaxed and down to Earth. No pressure, no judgment, no expectation to perform. You don’t have to “know what to do” or pretend to be someone you’re not. You just get to show up as yourself.

I take care of the rest.

There’s no stiff posing, no holding your breath, no forcing fake a** smiles that don’t feel like yours. We’re here to slow things down, have a good time, and let something real unfold. The kind of moments that feel honest. Because they are. They just happen to have cinematic lighting, are +1000 aura, and damn sure aren’t like what everyone else is gonna have.

Polished portraits have their place, but they’ve always felt a bit like pre-packaged meals to me. They look fine on the outside, but they’re freezer burned, stale, and are sometimes made by machine. They’re missing something.

Soul.

What I care about is depth, texture, and personality. That they actually feel like you.

I Photoshop very little these days (minor blemish removal, wild hairs, etc) or if it’s a safety thing. Beyond that, I capture you. As incredible, wonderful, and amazing as you are in the moment. In a world where we were incredibly upset about heavily Photoshopped images on magazine covers and giving ourselves a negative body image, a body dysmorphia complex, and an almost permanent hatred for what we see in the mirror we’ve now substituted that for AI slop.

It’s not real.
What’s better? An AI-generated picture of you typing something into your phone while on the toilet, or an image created of you actually doing it?

We fake the backgrounds. The accomplishments. The work. Effort.
So when are we going to know what’s real?
When we start to fight back against pixel perfect fake light portraiture that gives us an automatic appointment with the therapist.

I’m here for the ones that accept themselves for who they are but challenge that standard as often as they can. That can smile honestly, show their heart, and not pick themselves apart at every turn.
